Lt. George M. Lacey

 

 

HELPED BOMB GERMANY

AN 8th AIR FORCE BOMBER STATION, ENGLAND – 2nd Lt. George M. Lacey, son of Dr. and Mrs. T. B. Lacey of the state school at Glenwood, Ia., and a navigator on a B-17 Flying Fortress, has flown on many missions over enemy territory since his arrival from the states. He is a member of the 403rd bombing group, commanded by Col. Robert B. Landry of New Orleans. The group is a unit of the 3rd air division which has been cited by the president for its historic England to Africa shuttle bombing of Messerschmidt aircraft plants at Regensburg, Germany. Before becoming a member of the air corps, Lacey was a junior accountant for the Federal Land bank in Omaha.
