MEN AND WOMEN IN SERVICE.
First Sergeant Herbert D. Gilbert, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Gilbert, 1919 Wall street, has been selected from enlisted men at the Sioux City air base to attend an army air force officer candidate school at Miami Beach, Fla. Sergeant Gilbert attended Sioux City schools and Northwestern university.

Herbert Gilbert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gilbert, 1919 Wall street, recently was promoted to first lieutenant at an army air force base in China. A graduate of Central high school and Northwestern University, Lieut. Gilbert enlisted in April, 1942, and has been overseas seven months.
