Columbus Junction—
The promotion of David W. Gabriel, 21, son of John C. Gabriel, of Columbus Junction, to the grade of staff sergeant has been announced by the eighth air force in England. Sgt. Gabriel, who has been flying high altitude combat missions against German targets, is a radio operator and gunner. Prior to entering in the army air forces in August, 1943, he was a student at Parsons college.
