Spl. Technician Joe Flynn is spending a 15-day furlough in the home of his mother, Mrs. Jennie Flynn, after spending two and a half years at Fort Richardson, Alaska.

NEWS OF THE BOYS IN THE SERVICE  

Technician Corporal Jos. Flynn of Fort Richardson, Alaska, is home on furlough visiting his mother, Mrs. Jennie Flynn.  He has been serving in an engineering corps in Alaska the past two and a half years and will return to Fort Richardson this week.

LeMars, Ia.—Reporting to the Army ground and service forces redistribution station at Hot Springs, Ark., T. 5 Joseph E. Flynn, LeMars, is enjoying a vacation while meeting appointments which will determine his next assignment.  T. 5 Flynn spent a 30-day furlough with his mother, Mrs. Jennie Flynn, LeMars, before reporting to the station.  He served two years and eight months in the Asiatic-Pacific.  Before entering the Army he was employed by the Great Northern Railroad company.

Joseph Edward “Joe” Flynn was born Aug. 5, 1910 to Frank and Ann Jane Feeney Flynn. He died Sept. 17, 1960 and is buried in Saint Catherines Cemetery, Oyens, IA.
