Posthumous Award of Purple Heart
To Cedar Falls Soldier
Cedar Falls – The Purple Heart has been awarded posthumously to Pfc. Clarence Paul Crangle, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Crangle, 1110 West Eighth street, Cedar Falls.
He enlisted here Apr. 16, 1941, and left for overseas Feb. 17, 1942. He was reported missing in action in Italy Jan., 23, 1944, and his parents received a telegram Apr. 4, 1945, saying that he was killed in action Jan. 26.
He was in Company A, 133rd infantry, First battalion, 34th division.
