Thomas J. Burns, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Burns, 1706 Morningside avenue, was commissioned a second lieutenant and awarded the pilot’s silver wings of the army air forces November 20, at the Altus, Okla., army air field. He will take more advanced training at multiengined bomber or fighter school, or will attend the central instructor’s school at Randolph field.
