Ray J. Mohr was born Sept. 5, 1916 to Gustav A. and Anna Schmidt Mohr. He died Dec. 25, 1944 and is buried in Laurens Cemetery, Laurens, IA.

Pvt. Mohr served in World War II with the U.S. Army and died as the result of the sinking of the American transport ship he was traveling on which was carrying troops in the European Theater of operations.
