Virgil Clair Huntley was born Dec. 9, 1904 to George and Pearl Huntley. He died July 29, 1945 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

Chief Petty Officer Huntley served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Indianapolis (CA-35) and was lost with the sinking of that vessel. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
