Harry McKinley Reed, Sr. was born Jan. 15, 1893 to Samuel B. and Isabella C. “Belle” Coughtry Reed. He died Aug. 25, 1976 and is buried in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery, Waterloo, IA.

Maj. Reed served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II. He was in the U.S. Army field artillery officer training school in World War I.
