College Graduating Exercises. | |
“Commencement” is usually a time of rejoicing, of music and flowers; but it was not so with Luther College this year. They were held in the Luther church. The shadow of a great calamity brooded over the event; the gradu ating class alone remained, and the impending death of a favorite teacher— Prof. Ramstad—added a deeper gloom. Most beautifully did the Valedictorian, Mr. Lunde, refer to it in words that were simple, and yet so heart-touching that many of the audience wept freely.
