John Burns Tama News Herald, Tama, Iowa - June 28, 1901 John Burns, for thirty-five years a resident of Tama County, died Thursday at the home of his son, Parick, northeast of Toledo. He was born in County Connaught, Ireland, and was aged 78 years at the time of his death. He came to Canada in the early fifties, afterward coming to the United States. For some years he resided in Tama, where he won the good will and esteem of the community. His wife died some ten years ago and he is survived by two sons, Edward and Patrick.
