past
member; [abstracted by transcriber: he appealed a charge that had
been brought by G.B. Philips for "gross unmasonic
conduct, to mislead and defraud" and "bring our time-honored
institution into disgrace" by making "merchandise of Masonry, to
accomplish selfish & venal purposes" while acting as agent of the
Mohawk Valley Insurance Co. A Grand Lodge committee investigated and
found that Hussey was an agent of the Insurance co., that the company
failed & those insured lost their money. However the committee
found no evidence that Hussey knew that the insurance co. was going to
fail, or that he acted in bad faith. They ruled that the Eagle Lodge
expulsion be reversed & Hussey be restored to full membership.] |
