Jones County Lodges Knights of Pythias

The Order of Knights of Pythias is an international non-sectarian fraternal order, founded in 1864, and was the first to be chartered by an act of Congress. Click on the photo to the left for a larger view of their Anamosa meeting room.

Its members are dedicated to the cause of universal peace and are pledged to the promotion of understanding among men of good will as the surest means of attaining it. The Order of Knights of Pythias was founded in Washington, DC, February 19, 1864, by Justus H. Rathbone, and embraces more than two thousand subordinate lodges in the United States and Canada, with occasional lodges having been formed elsewhere. Knights of Pythias Lodge
