Much Confusion Over Exemption of Farm Laborers.

Local Board Unable to Guess Who Will Claim Exemption Under Farm Laborer Clause -- Big List Being Considered.

     The clause in the last call for men for service in the national army, placing men who have been active in planting crops in a deferred class, is working havoc with the smooth running machinery of the draft boards.  The call requires the handling of the draft within five days of April 26, and now the board has hustled out is new questionnaires to learn who among those in the first class are exempt under the new order.
     The following is a list of the men next liable for military service in class one.
     A number of the list will be exempted under a new rule of the department upon their filing proper proof that they are engaged in agricultural pursuits and that they are necessary to the industry in which they are engaged.
     Only nineteen men of the following list are to be induced in the April call which will be made on April 26 to leave on the 9:40 A.M. train for Camp Dodge.
