St. John's Lutheran Church of Grant Township, northwest of Adair, is
not only doing a good work in the regular field of religious endeavor,
but is very patriotic and active in doing war work. According to census
taken among the members of the church, they have contributed as
follows: First Liberty Loan $1,700, Second Liberty Loan $4,800, Third
Liberty Loan $18,600, War Savings Stamps $7,887.50, Red Cross
$1,242.50. (This does not include the $733.53 received from the annual
picnic.). Y.M.C.A. $245. Considering that the church has only 70
members this is a very good showing indeed. Rev. A H. Deletzke, pastor
of the church, has reason to be proud of the work his parishioners are
doing. |
