Feb 1873 – a grand ball was held at the school house.
Jan 1880 – James the teacher at Gere S H, is holding a first class singing school.
1886 – Teacher Emma Dixon has spring term
Feb 1891 – Professor Dull has a singing class at the Gere school house of 40 or 50 scholars. Will is a good musician & is giving entire satisfaction.
Sep 1891 – William Dull is conducting a singing school at the Gere S H. They meet every Tuesday night. He has a large class, but still there is room for a few more. His charges are reasonable and he is a competent teacher.
April 1891 – The singing class of the Gere S H will give a concert in the church, one half mile north of the school house, on Sat night, April 25. Admission , 15 Cents.
1889 – located 3 miles north of Meriden.

1890 – Literary mtgs at the school were turning into prohibition mtgs
