FARNHAM [p.478]. Calhoun county, See Farnhamville.

FARNHAMVILLE [p.478]. A village on the D. & L. C. line C. & N. W. Ry, in Calhoun county, 80 miles northwest of Des Moines, 18 miles southeast of Rockwell City, the county seat, and 6 west of Gowrie, the nearest banking point. Settled in 1880, it contains a Congregational church and ships grain. Population, 40. Tel., W. U. Exp., U. S. Mail, daily O. C. Riddle, postmaster.

LAKE CITY [p.499]. The terminus of the D. & L. C. line C. & N. W. Ry, in Calhoun township, Calhoun county, 12 miles southwest of Rockwell City, the seat of justice, and 90 northwest of Des Moines. It contains 4 churches, a good school, a flour mill, a bank, and a weekly newspaper, the Lake City Blade (Rep.). Ships, live stock, grain and produce. Population, 700. Tel., W. U. Exp., U. S. Mail, daily. J. S. McCreary, postmaster.

JOLLEY [p.591]. A recently established village on D. M. div. W., St. L. & P. Ry. (narrow gauge), in Butler township. Calhoun county, 105 miles north west of Des Moines, and 8 north west of Rockwell City, the county seat and nearest banking point. Settled in September, 1883. Ships grain, live stock and produce. Population, 20. Tel., W. U. Exp. Am. Mail, daily. E. D. Vorhes, postmaster.

LOHRVILLE [p.656]. An incorporated town on the C. & N. W. Ry, at the crossing of the W., St. L. & P. Ry in Union township, Calhoun county, 10 miles southeast of Rockwell City, the seat of justice. It contains Baptist and Presbyterian churches, a public school, a creamery, a bank and a weekly newspaper, the Lohrville Leader. Ships grain and live stock. Tel., W. U. Exp., U. S. and Am. Population, 400. Mail, daily. John W. Allison, postmaster.

MANSON [p.680-681]. A incorporated town on the I. Div. I. C. R. R., in Calhoun county, 92 miles southeast of Le Mars, and 13 northeast of Rockwell City, the seat of justice. It contains Methodist, Congregational and Catholic churches, 2 banks, good schools, a skating rink, a flouring mill, flax and tow mills, a hotel and a weekly newspaper. Live stock, grain, hay and flax are shipped. Tel., W. U. Exp., Am. Population 700. Mail, daily. Elias Skinner, postmaster.

POMEROY [p.847-848]. An incorporated town on the I. div. I. C. R. R., in Butler township, Calhoun county, 112 miles northwest of Des Moines, and 12 miles north of Rockwell City, the county seat. Settled in 1869, it has Presbyterian, Lutheran and Catholic churches, a graded school, a bank, and ships grain, produce, live stock and flax. Population, 500. Tel., W. U. Exp., Am. Mail, daily. J. H. Lowrey, postmaster.

ROCKWELL CITY [p.872-873]. The judicial seat of Calhoun County, is pleasantly located on the W., St. L. & P. Ry, in Twin Lakes township, 98 miles northwest of Des Moines. It contains a Methodist, Episcopal church, a district school, a bank, and a weekly newspaper, the Calhoun County Republican. Ships grain and live stock. Tel., W. U. Exp. U. S. Population, 500.
