Charles "Charlie" Andersen, 78, of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Sunday, March 9, 2025 at his home surrounded by family. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Morningside Lutheran Church, 700 South Martha St. Sioux City. Visitation will be held starting at 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Military Honors will be provided by the US Marines. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Chuck was born November 3, 1946, the son of Donald and Theresa Andersen. Chuck attended public schools in Sioux City and graduated from East High in 1964. He graduated from Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska with a business degree. Chuck served in the United States Marine Corps from 1965-1969, with 3 tours in Vietnam.

Chuck married Jolaine K. Eggerud on December 18, 1971 in Jasper, MN. To this union 3 sons were born: Christopher, Robert and Richard.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Jolaine; sons, Christopher (L eah) of Jefferson, SD., Robert of Sioux City and Richard (Megan) of Dakota Dunes, SD.; grandchildren, Kylie (Jordan), Baylie (Thomas), Gavin, Presley, Avery and Charlie; two great grandsons, Camden and Dawson; brother, Ron (Patti) of Sioux City and brother-in-law, Jay Eggerud of Jasper, MN. and Mindy Andersen of Sioux City along with several nieces and nephews.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Theresa; his mother and father in-law, Oliver and Joyce Eggerud; brother, Keith and two brother-in-laws, Bob and Bruce.

Chuck wants to be remembered as a good husband, father, grandfather and a Marine that did his job.
