Delores E. Loebsack, the daughter of Herbert and Estella (Lutt) Peters, was born on May 25, 1927, in Wayne, Neb. She passed away on December 8, 2024, in Sioux City, Iowa at the age of 97.
Delores lived a remarkable life, devoted to her family and community. She grew up in Wayne until 1941, when her family moved to Winside, Neb., where she graduated from high school in 1945.

Delores began her career shortly after graduation, working at Graham Ice Cream in Norfolk, Neb., from 1946 to 1947. She married her beloved husband, William Loebsack, on April 20, 1947, in Winside, and together they moved to Sioux City. During her lifetime, Delores held various positions, including five years at Cudahy Packing Company from 1948 to 1953. Alongside being a dedicated homemaker, she took on seasonal work at Swift Produce and enjoyed a long career in Quality Control at American Popcorn until her retirement.

Delores was known for her organized nature, great journaling skills, and her frugal mindset, traits that served her well throughout her life. She cherished her family dearly, and they were her everything. Saturday morning coffees, sending cards on their birthdays, and daily phone calls filled her days with joy and connection. In her leisure time, enjoyed fishing and traveling with her husband, bowling on a mixed league, playing cards, solving crossword puzzles, and watching NASCAR and baseball.

Delores is survived by her children, Dianne Bokemper, Lynette (Mark) Lenz, Deb Clayton (Steve Mousel), Lanice (David) Lamoreux, all of Sioux City, and Gary (Shirley) Loebsack of Franklin, Tenn. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren, Missy (Robbie), Shelley, Chad (Crystal), Staci (Cody), Cari (Ron), Carli (Dan), Nicole, Kari (Cory), Scott (Noelle), Taylor, Tanner, and Ashlei (Josh); as well as 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Delores is also survived by her sister, Bonnie Wylie, and several nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; sons-in-law, Billy Bokemper and Gil Roberts; granddaughter, Amy Lamoreux; and great-grandson, Chase Rosener.

Visitation will be held at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 4 to 8 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. A prayer service will take place at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church in Sioux City on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 10 a.m. followed by burial at Memorial Park Cemetery.
