OBITUARY.
Lawrence Silhachek was born at Dasna, Austria, March 7, 1830, where he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage with Anna Fisher, of Europe. To this union was born one daughter, Catherine, wife of the late Frank Shileny, who preceded her father in death about 20 years ago. In 1866, this family emigrated to this country and settled on a farm near Spillville which they successfully conducted for several years. He also spent two years on a farm near Ridgeway after which he moved to Spillville where he wished to spend his declining years. His wife passed away in 1915, and from that time forward Mr. Shilachek, being of feeble health, made his home with his grandchild, Frank Shilany, west of town, where he passed away on March 30, 1919, at the age of 89 years and 23 days, death being due to old age.
