John C. Byrd, 91, of Indianola, died Monday October 22, 2012 at the Indianola Good Samaritan. John was born to Abe and Mae Byrd on August 6, 1921. John was a WWII Army Veteran. He was a member of the Odd Fellows, Rebekahs and American Legion post # 165.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; his parents; his brother Bob and sister Mary Ann. Surviving are his children, Ed (Robin) Byrd, Jo (Scott) Helgeson, Mary (Jerry) Eckhoff and John (Peggy) Byrd; twelve grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Fraternal Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the Odd Fellows Hall near the cemetery on South Jefferson. Military Honors will follow directly at the I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Any Memorials will go to the Arthritis Fund thru the Odd Fellows.
