Services for Freda (Nine) Caviness, age 91, who passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at The Village Care Center in Indianola, will be held 1:30 p.m., Monday, November 5 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Freda was a much loved relative, teacher and friend. She will be remembered for her cheerful disposition and positive influences on her students, family and friends. She is survived by her nephew Charles Amos and wife Thelma and Joanne Balzer Amos all of Indianola. She is also survived by her late husband's nieces and nephew, Karla Trotter Beard of Indianola, Merlyn "Bud" Trotter and his wife Ruth of Lincoln, NE and Fonda Trotter Cone and her husband Ed of Turlock, CA; cousins, Betty (Doc) Nyswonger and Shirley Manders of Indianola, and Virginia Bentson of Buenos Aires, Argentina; as well as several great nieces and nephews and many friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Gilbert, brother Robert, sister Mildred and brother-in-law Charles Amos, Sr. and nephews Larry Amos and Jerry Beard.
Visitation will be held 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, November 4 at Overton Funeral Home, where family will be present to greet friends from 3 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Indianola Public Library. Online condolences may be made at www.overtonfunerals.com.
