OTTUMWA - Jerry Don Harris, 39, former Ottumwa resident and husband of former Janet Abbey of Fairfield, died Wednesday in Country Club Hills, Ill.

Last rites will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Tews Funeral Home in Homewood, Ill. Following cremation the ashes will be returned to Ottumwa for butial. No date has been set for the service.

Jerry Don Harris was born Dec. 10, 1941, at Lebanon, Mo., the son of Don and Mary Terry Harris.

Harris graduated fromthe Ottumwa High School with the Class of 1959. At the time of his death he was Manager of Administration and Cutomer(err) Relations for the LaSalle Bureau County Railroad.

he was married Dec. 19, 1964, to Janet Abbey at Fairfield. She survives.

Other survivors include, daughter, Laura, and a son, Patrick, both at home; his mother, Mary Baird, and his step-father, Charles Baird, Casa Grande, Arizona; one sister, Terri Anderson, Phoenix, Arizona; two step-sisters, Diane B. Dallner, Batavia, and Linda Reder, Richland, Wash.
