John Huffstutter
ELDON.—John Melvy Huffstutter, 77, a retired coal miner, died at 4:30 p.m. Thursday after several years of failing health.

He was born July 25, 1883, near Eldon, the son of Columbus and Nancy Huffstutter. He spent his entire life in Wapello county.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Jess Bivens and Mrs. Harry Kellar, both of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Roland McBeth of Des Moines; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Dick Huffstutter of Pecos, Tex., and Dennis Huffstutter of Eldon.

The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Community funeral home in Ottumwa with the Rev. L. A. Flactiff in charge. Burial will be in the Shaul cemetery there.
