REMOVE PIN FROM
THROAT OF CHILD

IOWA CITY, Ia. Aug. 30 – Pauline Kruger, 10, of Ottumwa, smiled at the University of Iowa physicians here this noon and assured them, “It didn’t hurt at all,” following the removal of an open safety pin from her throat here this morning.

The child’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Kruger, returned to Ottumwa today after witnessing the operation. Pauline will remain in the hospital several days.

Physicians were unable to explain how the pin got into the girl’s throat, but said her condition following the removal is “very satisfactory.”
