MILDRED'S AUTOBIOGRAPHY
Dear Courier - I was born July 26, 1901.
When I was six months old I had the measles. I gave them to Aunt Revena and she gave them to papa, so we had our share.
One day when I was four years old, I went up to our neighbor's because mamma was sick. After while papa came up and said I should go home because we had something. I asked papa if it was a funny paper. He told me no, and said for me to wait till I got home. Papa took me into mama's room and I saw a little baby lying there. I asked mamma if it was ours and she said yes. When mamma was well, we named him Lloyd Raymond. When he was a few months old he was operated upon.
When I was seven years old we moved to Ewart. Papa was a preacher there and I got my wrist sprained the night papa was putting up the tent for the tent meetings. We lived there a year and then moved to Keokuk. Papa worked at the gas works there. We lived in Keokuk a year and then moved to Ottumwa. Many people ask me which town I like best and of course I say Ottumwa.
Your Junior friend,
