Josiah Bryant 1784-1870

Josiah was the son of Josiah and Lydia Ratliff Bryant. He married Mary Turman 24 Dec 1809 at Miami County Ohio.

Children: Matilda, Benjamin Turman, Sara Ruann, Martha Malone.

Josiah and family appear in the 1820 census for Sullivan County Indianna. They were original settlers in Sullivan County, living in Turman Township; named for Mary's parents. By 1840 they appear on the census for LaPorte County Indianna.

Leaving Pulaski County Indianna in 1863, they moved to Ottumwa, Iowa. After Josiah's death, Mary lived with daughter Martha Bryant Cherrie and family, moving to California in 1883. She died six years later.
