Margaret L. Lowell

Margaret L. Lowell, 80, of 500 N. Court St., Fairfield died at 9:15 p.m. August 15, 1991, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

She was born January 29, 1911, to William and Mary Ethel Long Herdlinska in Green Township. She married C. Dillon Lowell on March 28, 1970, at his Walton Lake Home in Fairfield.

She received her teaching degree from Iowa State University and taught in rural schools in Tiffin and Riverside before moving to Fairfield in 1943, where she taught at Logan School and the junior high and high schools. She retired in 1974. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Fairifeld(err), V.P.W., D.K.A., D.A.R., American Legion Auxiliary, Retired Teachers Association, Methodist Church Circle, and the Guild at the church, I.O.U., T.T.T., and A.A.R.P.

She is survived by her husband; two stepdaughters, Patricia McDonald of Cantril and Barbara Lowell of Rochester, N.Y.; five step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Donald, Richard and Kenneth and a sister Lois Wright.

The service was held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 19, 1991 at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, the Rev. Kenneth Royar officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church.
