Suit of an Adopted Son

In 1883, Joseph Hooper, of Creston adopted Wesley Gahard. Adoption papers were made and duly recorded, but some reason was left unsigned. Hooper died in 1890, leaving no children except his adopted son, where upon Mrs. Hooper set him adrift and took possession of all the property. The adopted son brings suit to recover two-thirds of the state, which is upwards of $10,000.
