OBITUARY

Mrs. Martha Serine Nagel was born February 9th, 1834, on a place names Nagel, in Skjold parish, Norway. In the year 1862 she was married to Bernt Nagel and two years later they emigrated from Norway and came to this country locating first in Illinois. In 1869 they moved westward and settled down in Story county, Iowa, where Mrs. Nagel has lived ever since. About half a year ago she came to stary with her daughter, Mrs. K. D. Knudson, of Jewell, and here spent the remaining days of her life. During the past six months here health has gradually failed and Saturday of last week, January 6th she passed away. Her husband and four children have gone before her.

She leaves to mourn the loss of a beloved mother, four children and many relatives and friends.

The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon, January 9th, from the home and Lutheran church, conducted by Rev. Eastvold, and the body was laid at rest in Evergreen cemetery.
