Employment: After graduating from high school, Jean worked at Mutual of Omaha, Omaha, NE; after they married, Lynn and Jean moved to Woodbine, IA and opened Royer Body Shop and, later, Royer Hardware. Jean was the bookkeeper for both businesses.

Hobbies/Interests: Loved gardening, tending to her flowers and doing yard work; they belonged to card club for many years; Jean enjoyed meeting friends downtown for coffee and conversation, watching the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team, NBA and WNBA basketball, and the Nebraska women’s volleyball team. They were animal lovers, and had adopted many dogs and cats over the years; enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels come to the feeders; additionally, they loved to travel and were partial to the drive through the Blue Ridge Parkway and to historical sites, including Gettysburg, Washington, D.C. and Quantico, VA, where Lynn was stationed while serving in the Marine Corps. Mostly Jean enjoyed spending time with family and attending school functions and sporting events of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
