Funeral services: Memorial Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, July 26, 2024; St Michael's Catholic Church,
Harlan, IA; inurnment to take place in the Harlan (IA) Cemetery at a later date

Survived by: Sons, Roger Heimerman of Greenfield, MA, and Randy Heimerman of Ankeny, IA; sisters, Janis (spouse, Richard) Michalski of Valley, NE, and Charlene Brittain of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Ben, Lauren, and Libby Heimerman, all of Ankeny, IA; other family members and friends

Predeceased by: Parents, Charles and Marjorie “Jean” (nee Moats) Gilmore; husband, Robert Heimerman (deceased Oct. 20, 2020); brother, Charles Gilmore, Jr.

Education: Graduated from Mondamin (IA) High School, Class of 1960; she then attended Barnes School of Beauty Culture in Council Bluffs, IA and graduated from there in July 1961

Marriage: Robert John Heimerman; April 1, 1967; Onawa, IA

Employment: Worked as a hair stylist in Lake City, IA, and Missouri Valley, IA, for several years. After her marriage, she operated Judy’s Beauty Land in the couple’s country home in Defiance, IA, for nearly 20 years. The couple then moved to Harlan, IA, where she provided hair care services for area nursing home residents and for the funeral home, until her retirement in 2013.

Hobbies/Interests: Loved to cook and bake, particularly her specialty of meringue pies; loved to go square dancing with Robert; they both loved to listen to classic country music as well as cheering on the Iowa State athletics teams. Loved gardening and crafting, particularly ceramics. She collected Christmas decorations that would light up the holiday season for family and friends; loved having dogs, and a special fondness for Airedale Terriers.
