Funeral services for the Rev. John T. Kennedy, former pastor of St. Mary's church, Wilton, were held at Davenport Dec. 20, 1989 with burial at Mount Calvary cemetery, Davenport.

The Rev. Kennedy died at the Kahl Home for the Aged and Infirm at Davenport Dec. 18.

He attended Columbus college, Sioux Falls, S.D.; Creighton University, Omaha, Neb., where he received his doctorate in 1927 and Kenrick Seminary, St. Louis, Mo.

He was ordained in 1936 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Davenport. He served at St. Wenceslaus Catholic church, Iowa City; was on the faculty at St. Ambrose college, Davenport, from 1936-1949 and was chaplain at Sacred Heart hospital and the state penitentiary, Fort Madison. He also served as pastor at Immaculate Conception Catholic church, Petersville; Assumption church, Charlotte; St. Patrick's church, Villa Nova; St. Patrick's church, Brooklyn and St. Mary's church, Wilton. He retired in 1974 to St. Vincent's center.

Memorials may be made to Priest's Retirement Fund, St. Vincent's Center, Davenport.

Survivors include a sister, Anna Kennedy McDullough, Durand, Ill and 3 nieces and 3 nephews.
