Obituary - Cecil Summers
Francis Cecil Summers was born in Tingley township June 18, 1898. His death occurred Monday evening, November 26, near Creston, when he fell from a moving train as he was on his way home to spend Thanksgiving with his mother, Mrs. Louvisa Summers. He was 19 years old, 5 months, and 8 days old.
Sept. 6, 1915 he confessed his faith in Christ and was baptize by Elder Sam C. Kincheloe, who that that time was pastor of the Tingley Christian church. Cecil was of a cheerful disposition and made friends of young and old alike.
Besides his bereaved mother he leaves four sisters, Miss Blanche Summers and Mrs. May Reece of Des Moines, Misses Ellen and Louvisa of Tingley, and three brothers, Claude and Earle of Sac City, Iowa, and Jeff J. of Tingley to mourn their loss, and all of whom were permitted to be present at the funeral services which were held from the home Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J. A. Branson. Interment in Tingley Cemetery.
