MARSHA KAY HANKS GREENMAN
daughter of Floyd Jefferson and Bertha Lorraine Jarred Hanks, was born June 26, 1939, at Kellerton, Iowa, and departed this life July 4, 1976 at the Ringgold County Hospital, at the age of 37 years and eight days, after a very long illness.

She as reared in the Kellerton community, graduated from Kellerton High School in 1957. On June 1, 1957 she was united in marriage to Roger Greenman at the Kellerton United Methodist Church. To this union as born two children, Kirk and Cindy. At an early age Marsha confessed her belief in our Lord, was baptized and was received into the Methodist Church in Kellerton. Her strong faith and belief in God helped sustain her through her long illness.

She used her ability in music as a soloist and member of church choirs in communities where family lived. She enjoyed children, worked with Scout groups, served as president of the PTA in Mason City, Iowa. Her primary interest was in her role as homemaker and mother. She had a friendly, happy disposition which made her many friends, and she will be sadly missed by all of them. To know her was to love her.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband , Roger; her children, Kirk and Cindy of Slater, Iowa; her father and mother Floyd and Bertha Hanks of Kellerton; two sisters, Mrs. Wayne (JoAnn) George of Kellerton, and Mrs. Calvin (Fern) Gregg of Mount Ayr; her father in law, Clifford Greenman in the Health Care Center in Mt. Ayr; brothers in law, sisters in law; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and many friends.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Arthur Hill at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 7, 1976, at Rhoades-Wilson Funeral Home in Mount Ayr. Organist was Mrs. Weldon Meadows, who accompanied soloist, Jack Hughes. Casket bearers were Chip Harmon, Gary Gibson, Bob Swanson, David Beedle, Darrel Harmon and Marshall Gibson. Burial was in Maple Row Cemetery, Kellerton.
