ANOTHER SUICIDE
John N. NICHOLS of Diagonal committed suicide Sunday night by shooting himself through the head with a revolver. The body was not found until about 10 o'clock Monday morning. He had been in poor health for some years and was one of the unfortunate ones in that he was also a cripple, being deformed in the manner known as a hunchback.
The manner of his death is supposed to have been as follows: Entering the cave where the body was found he closed the door, seated himself on a box, leaned back against the wall, placed the revolver against the side of head and sent the bullet crashing through his brain. Death must have been almost instantaneous, as the body was found seated upon the box as above described. County Coroner Dr. C.T. LESAN was summoned and after investigating decided that it was a case of suicide and so did not hold an inquest. Mr. NICHOLS was on of the rural route carriers out of Diagonal. He was about 22 years of age and made his home with his widowed mother. This is the second suicide in the north part of the county within a month.
