OBITUARY - Mrs. LUPHER
Lenna James, eldest daughter of William and Martha JAMES, was born in New Vernon, Pa., June 21, 1865, and died at her home in Tingley, Iowa, Sept. 6, 1933, at the age of 68 years, 2 months and 15 days.
She was married to A. D. LUPHER on the 16th of August 1894, in New Vernon, Pa., and came to Iowa that year. To this union were born two sons, Leon and Erle. Mr. LUPHER passed away about seven years ago.
She united with the United Presbyterian church when very young and has remained a faithful and loyal member of the church.
On Aug. 24, Mrs. LUPHER suffered a paralytic stroke from which she never recovered.
Besides a host of friends, she leaves to mourn two sons, Leon and Erle, one daughter-in-law, Gladys LUPHER, one step-daughter-in-law, Vonnie LUPHER of Deer Lodge, Mont., two step grandchildren also of Deer Lodge, two sisters and one brother of Pennsylvania.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the U.P. church, conducted by her pastor, Rev. B.E. DOBBINS, and interment made by the side of her husband in the Tingley cemetery.
