Funeral services for Harry A[mbrus]. HEGGS, 90, of Bedford, were held October 26 at Shum-Novinger Funeral Home in Bedford with Carl CUMMINGS officiating. Mr. HEGGS died at Colonial Manor in Bedford October 23, 1973. Interment was at Rose Hill Cemetery, Blockton.
Harry A. HEGGS, son of W[illiam]. R[obinson]. and Lily DILLY HEGGS, was born November 2, 1882, at Beaconsfield, Iowa.
On September 11, 1911, he was united in marriage to Emma KAEPERNIK, at Sterling, Colorado. To them were born three daughters and one son. They moved to Ringgold County, Iowa in 1923 and later to Taylor County, Iowa where he has since continued to reside.
Mr. Heggs was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter, Edith HEGGS HUGHES, who passed away April 3, 1963 and a son, Gene HEGGS, who died January 22, 1972. He was the last of his own family of three brothers and two sisters.
Left to cherish his memory are daughters: Olive MUMM and her husband, Edward MUMM, of Tampa, Florida, and Violet (Tomi) HEGGS of Evergreen, Colorado; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
He followed the occupation of a farmer until his retirement.
Mr. HEGGS was a member of the Berea Church of Christ, Bedford.
He will be remembered as a kind and considerate father and grandfather, friend and neighbor, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
