Oscar E. DOUGLAS, 69, long time resident of Bedford, died unexpectedly at his home in south Bedford about 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 6. He is survived by his wife, Edna; by three sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at the Christian church at two p. m., Thursday, July 8, conducted by Rev. Fred H. COWLES. Burial in Fairview cemetery [Taylor County].

Funeral services for Oscar E. DOUGLAS of Bedford were held at the Christian church Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Fred H. COWELS. Burial in Fairview cemetery, with Bedford lodge, No. 91, I. O. O. F., giving their service at the grave.
Oscar Elsworth DOUGLAS, son of William and Hulda [Lee (FITCH)] DOUGLAS, was born in Ringgold County, Iowa, March 22, 1885, and died at the age of 69 years, three months, 14 days.
On January 29, 1925 he was married to Miss Edna ROBEY at Bedford.
He is survived by his wife, Edna; three brothers: John [Oliver] DOUGLAS of Bedford, [William] Orville DOUGLAS of Creston, Melvin [Clifford] DOUGLAS of Villisca; three sisters: Mrs. Myrtle OWINGS, Mrs. Ida KEMPLE of Bedford, Mrs. Bernice TRAVIS of Clarinda.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
When a young man he accepted Christ as his Saviour and united with the Christian church of Bedford under the pastorship of Rev. W. E. ROBB. He served as a deacon for about 25 years.
Mr. DOUGLAS lived practically all his life in and around Bedford. For the past 14 years he has been engaged in the trucking business.
He was a member of the Bedford Odd Fellows Lodge.
