Thursday, January 20, 1938OBITUARY ~ JOHN FREDERICK HAIDSIAK
John Frederick HAIDSIAK, eldest son of Frank and Mary E. HAIDSIACK (sic), was born February 2, 1880, in Page county, Iowa, and passed away at the age Cof (sic) 57 years, 10 months and 15 days at his home near Maloy, Iowa, Thursday, January 6, 1938.
His boyhood days were spent on a with his parents to Taylor county in farm near Yorktown, Iowa, moving 1901.
On November 6, 1901, he was united in marriage to Miss Anna HOLMS, and to this union were born ten children, eight of whom with the widow survive. They are Mrs. Helen SINGLETON of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Lucile HAMMER of Clarinda, Mo., Mrs. Nina DUKES and Frank J. HAIDSIAK of Blocton, Wayne, Vera, Max and Annabel at home. Two daughters, Hazel and Anna, preceded him in death.
He is also survived by three brothers, Charley HAIDSIAK of Nelson, Nebraska, Harry HAIDSIAK of Bedford, and George HAIDSIAK of Modesta, California; three sisters, Mrs. Lulu HOLMS of Nelson, Nebraska, Mrs. Lottie PETZ of Reseda, California, and Mrs. Martha STEPHENS of Bedford, and eight grand children.
In this early youth he was baptized into the Lutheran faith. He was a kind, loving husband and father and will not only be missed in the home but also by the many friends in the community.
The funeral services were held on Monday, Janaury 10, at the Methodist church in Blockton, conducted by Rev. W. H. WARRIOR. Burial was in the Polsley cemetery at Yorktown [IA].
