OBITUARY.
DIED--Mrs. Minnie, wife of John GLENDENNING and daughter of James and Susan E. MILLER, died in Rice township, Ringgold county, Iowa, Oct. 16th 1873 after a brief illness.
Sister GLENDENNING was born in Rockbridge county, Va., Oct 12th 1850. She embraced religion about ten years ago and joined the United Brethren Church. She was united in marriage to Brother John GLENDENNING some four and a half years ago, and about the same time joined the M. E. Church, of which she continued a worthy member. Several days before her death she seemed to have a presentment that she would not live long. She told a friend who was with her, that her peace was made with God, that if it was His will she was ready and willing to go. Although the day was stormy there was a large congregation of sympathizing friends attended the funeral. The sermon was preached by the writer from Numbers 23d chapter, 10 verse: Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like His." After which we conveyed her remains to the tomb to await the resurrection morn. Her flesh rests in hope.
