NOTICE of DEATH.
DIED--At his residence in Clinton township, Ringgold county, Iowa, on the 19th of August, 1884, Mr. Saml. EATON, in the 55th year of his age.
Bro. EATON was born in Cumberland county Ken. At the age of 13 years he came with his parents to Davis county, Iowa. He was married to he present wife in 1850. A few months after his marriage he made a profession of religion and united with the Babtist (sic) church, of which he remained a consistent member until his death, a period of thirty years. Mr. EATON was a soldier during the late [Civil] war. He enlisted in Company G 29th Iowa Inft., but his health soon failed him and he was confined to the hospital most of the time. At the close of the war he came home broken down in health and hardly enjoyed a day's health since. His last sickness was short, only about eight days. His family have in their afflictin the sympathy of a large circle of friends. He leaves a wife and seven children to mourn his loss-but they mourn not as those who have no hope. He was followed to his grave by a large number of friends and Neighbors. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. P. ANDREWS of Mt. Ayr, an old time friend of the deceased. The memory of the just is blessed.
