SUMNER WEDMollie Beth Ryan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Foster, Kellogg, and Charles I. Sumner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sumner, were wed in a morning ceremony Saturday, June 4.
John Epperson, minister of the Grinnell Christian Church, performed the ceremony.
The ceremony took place at the bridegroom's parents' home in their botanical garden. The couple exchanged vows under a white arch decorated with greenery and white and blue bells.
The maid of honor was Megan Ryan, daughter of the bride. John Ryan, son of the bride, was ring bearer.
The best man was Dustin Sumner, son of the bridegroom.
Music was provided by Greg Sumner, brother of the bridegroom, who played special guitar music.
Following the ceremony, a brunch of fruit and breakfast rolls was served at a lawn party at the home of the bride and groom. The two-tiered wedding cake was decorated with light blue roses.
Presiding at the guest book was Jennifer Brown, niece of the bride.
The bride graduated from Newton High School in 1975 and is employed by The Vernon Company. The bridegroom graduated from Grinnell High School in 1973 and is employed by the Maytag Company. The couple is at home in Kellogg.
