1945-2012Robert (Bob) peacefully went home to the Lord on January 13, 2012. Bob was born on September 16, 1945 to the parents of Robert Gene and Kathleen Bostwick in Jefferson, Iowa. He later moved to Des Moines where he graduated from Des Moines Technical High School in 1963.
On March 14, 1965 Bob married Pamelia Sue (Freeman), and to that marriage three children were born. Robin Arnold (Jon) of West Des Moines, Iowa; David (Rhonda) Bostwick of Des Moines, Iowa; and Gina Johnson (John) of Dexter, Iowa.
Bob worked as a welder and heat treat operator for many years at AMF Lawn and Garden Division, where he was a shop steward and proud member of the United Auto Workers (UAW) Local 562, then later moving on to Dico Manufacturing.
Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was also a record holder in trap and skeet shooting at the Pioneer Gun Club in Waukee, Iowa.
Bob was preceded in death by his dad Robert Gene Bostwick. He is survived by his wife, Pam, three children, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, his sister Cheryl Bowen (Duane) of Highland, Indiana, brother Garry Bostwick (Jan) of Boise, Idaho, his mother, Kathleen of Des Moines, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday January 16, 2012 at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle, Iowa.
Funeral services will be Tuesday January 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Peterson Funeral Home with internment at Sandyville Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at the Legion Hall in Carlisle, Iowa.
