KERSHER, PETER-Farmer, section 23 (Madison Twp.), P. O. Polk City. Was born in Germany, December 15, 1815, and at the age of twelve years emigrated with his parents to this country, landing in New York. From there he removed to Buffalo, New York, and thence to Erie, Pennsylvania, where he followed farming until 1854. He then came to this county and has made his home here since. Owns a farm of 160 acres, well improved. Was married in Erie, Pennsylvania, to Miss Caroline Harmon. They have a family of eleven children.
