Craig B. Anderson, 70, of Urbandale, passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at home. Craig was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Betty Brooks Anderson and Lars V. Anderson on September 13, 1942. He was raised in Grosse Pointe, Michigan and received his BS and MBA from Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
He was united in marriage to Joan Yoch Anderson at SS Peter and Paul's Catholic Church in West Bend, Iowa on June 4, 1983. Craig was a finance and manufacturing executive until his retirement from Fisher Controls in Marshalltown, Iowa in 2002. He was an avid golfer, loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Joan; his three sons, Jeff (Penny) of Breckenridge, Michigan, David (Trish) of Luxemburg, Wisconsin and Ryan (Tonya) of Des Moines; four grandchildren, Katelyn, Alex, Ellie, and Malia; and one sister, Susan (Tom) Martin of St. Clair Shores, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Jill, brother Lars and sister Carol.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 23, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in West Des Moines with a Prayer Service following at 5 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 24 at the Church. Interment will be held at West Bend Cemetery in West Bend, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
