Hi Rachael..The children ate,played,slept & watched out the windows at the counrty side while they traveled for 3 days& 3 nights from New York & 5 days & 4 nights from Boston. It took this long to travel from those cities to Iowa. Once they arrived a their destination they changed clothes & meet the people who were anxious & curious about them. I'm sure they must have talked to the people who were also riding on the trains. Madonna M. Harms
