Dale D. Parry, 80, of Primghar, passed away Thrusday, July 16, 2008 at Primghar Care Center.
Services will he held at 2 pm Sunday a tthe United Church of Primghar, with the Revs. Cory Flanigan and Beryl Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Dale Dean Parry, the son of Eli and Lottie (Irvine) Parry, was born January 23, 1929, in Primghar. He was a Primghar Bulldog for all his education, graduating from Primghar High School in 1947.
He was united in marriage to Nadine Henline on August 23, 1950, in Primghar. The couple farmed north of Primghar for many years. He served with the Iowa Army National Guard, serving from Sheldon, Iowa. He sold insurance, and for several years before his retirement, worked at the Primghar Savings Bank.
The couple moved into Primghar in 1989. During his retirement years, he assisted at Gaudian Eldridge Funeral Home in Paullina, Iowa, and Primghar and Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon and Boyden, Iowa.
He was an active member of the United Church of Primghar, always keeping an eye on church activities. Family and friends were important to him. He enjoyed visiting shut-ins at home or in the nursing home, playing deuces wild and having coffee at Pro-Go in Primghar. He also enjoyed travelig, alwas ling at his atlas for a new plae to visit or tell somebody how to find a place. He liked to watch the birds and squirrels at the feeders around his home.
His memory will always be in the hearts of his wife of almost 59 years, Nadine of Primghar; his daughters, Dee and Randy and Kim and Joel, all of Primghar; and Jan and Jim of Hartley, Iowa; six grandchildren and six gret grandchildren, [redacted]; a brother, Thomas Parry and his wife, Dorothy of Frederick, Maryland; a sister Virgene and her husband, Larry Becker of Rolla, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Molly Parry of Sheldon, Iowa; nieces, nephews, and other relatives; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Don.
