Art Rohwer Services Were Monday, Oct. 30
Funeral services were held Monday. October 30 for Arthur B. Rohwer. 74 of Primghar at the First Presbyterian Church of Paullina. Mr. Rohwer passed away on October 27 at a Des Moines hospital.
Rev Robert Hickman, the pastor of the church, officiated at the services. Pallbearers were Richard Evenson, Boyd McQueen, Philip Simm, Robert Negus, Rodney Hughes, and Walter Jeffers. Dale DeWaay sang two hymns "Have Thine Own Way" and "How Great Thou Art" with Mrs. Carl Strove as organist.
The burial was in Prairie View Cemetery near Paullina.
Arthur B. Rohwer was born on January 2, 1898, near Paullina. He was married to Ruth Hughes on September 11, 1918. They farmed until 1954 when he was employed by Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service. They moved to Primghar when he retired in 1960.
Survivors include his widow Ruth, and 2 daughters. Miss Elsie May Rohwer of Des Moines, Mrs. James (Jean) Negus of Newton; 5 sons, George of Milford, Alvin of Fairfax, Minn., Merrill and Bernard, both of Archer, James of Ottumwa; 2 sisters, Mrs. Elsie Agee of Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. Amanda Severance of San Jose, Calif., 3 brothers, George of Denver, Henry of Paullina, and Elmer of Butterfield, Minn.; 23 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.
