Funeral Services For Archie Dance, March 25
Funeral services for Archie L. Dance of Paullina were held on Tuesday, March 25, at the Zion Lutheran Church. Rev. Melvin Thur officiated. Pallbearers were Lester Thorns, Howard Tjossem, Delmar Laue, John Lange, Orville Hatfield and Kenneth Bancroft. Mr. and Mrs. James Meyer were vocalists, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Marvin Fintel. Burial was in Prairie View Cemetery with Gaudian Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Obituary
Archie L. Dance, son of William and Laura Dance, was born on September 26, 1904, in Missouri. He received his education in the Missouri area and spent the next few years in the Bismarck, North Dakota area. In 1926 he graduated from the Barber College in Fargo, North Dakota.
Following his graduation he was married to Frieda Peters on October 7, 1929. To this union one daughter was born.
Archie opened up a barber shop here in Paullina in 1929. He had maintained this barber shop for the last 40 years. About two weeks ago Archie thought he was suffering from what appeared to be the flu. He never fully recovered and passed away very suddenly on Saturday of last week at the age of 64 years, 5 months and 25 days.
He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife. Frieda; his daughter, Virginia, Mrs. Walter Banks, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and a stepson, Merlin Peters of Whiting, Iowa. He is also survived by four grandchildren. His one sister, Miss Nellie Dance, of Bismarck, North Dakota, also survives. His parents, two brothers, one granddaughter and one grandson preceded him in death.
